Tribute bands at their best are not just
about looking and sounding like their famous
counterparts, they are about capturing the
essence and spirit of the real article.
In this respect, the Cavern Beatles score
top marks every time. Their passion for
the music comes across to an audience and
there is never an impression that they are
going throught the motions. It is obvious
from individual photographs who is supposed
to be who, but when the band come together
on stage the likenesses become even more
striking. As musicians, the Cavern Beatles
have researched their parts meticulously,
from chord shapes to drum fills, to ensure
the music is represented as accurately as
possible. The fact that all the band have
been born and bred in Liverpool, gives them
an immediate advantage vocally over other
copy bands. There are no phoney accents
here.

cruise ships, and marquee's to festivals,
the Cavern Beatles are the perfect entertainment
for any event. The band can cover any kind
of event, having experience of the smallest
private parties right up to huge outdoor

There have been many Beatle mimics over
the years, some have been more successful
than others. It is significant that the
only such group to have received a review
and photograph in the "BEATLES BOOK",
has been the Cavern Beatles. The afore mentioned
magazine has been published every month
since 1963 and is distributed worldwide.
It has to be said that they are not usually
impressed by Beatle impersonators, the Cavern
Beatles appear to be the exception. The
very favourable article was written by TONY
BARROW who was the Beatles Press Officer
between 1962 & 1966, he also wrote the
sleeve notes for the first 3 Beatle L.P.'s
"They have studied the mannerisms,
gestures and expressions of their superstar
subjects and they are accomplished singers
and instrumentalists who manage to capture
the musical feel of the original Fab Four."

daytime TV show PEBBLE MILL, in March 1994,
the BBC were swamped with letters about
them. which resulted in a repeat showing
on POINTS OF VIEW with Anne Robinson
