| BILLY LEE
Londoner BILLY LEE took to the stage in
1981 in a theatre and this encouraged him
to join various R&B bands before progressing
to a solo entertainer in 1988.
During the same year BBC Radio spotted this
up and coming star , invited him for an
interview and immediately his career in
vocally impersonating stars of the 50's
and 60's expanded.
Still working as a semi-professional for
a number of years , he perfected his cabaret
act working in clubs and theatres up and
down the country introducing new soundalikes
into his act.
In 1995 , his diary was full and he was
forced to make entertaining his full-time
occupation, hitting the market with new
publicity and being booked as a soundalike
as well as a singer/entertainer.
1998 was time to move on and his audition
for TV culminated in his TV debut on Saturday
11th April 1998 , on Granada TV's "Stars
In Their Eyes", performing a vibrant
TOM JONES.
After this outstanding appearance , he was
approached by the BBC's "Watch Dog"
panel to produce a 'bogus' Tom Jones record
in order to expose a cheating record company.
Again, another brilliant feature spot and
closure of the programme.
Billy's most recent appearance on TV was
in November 1998 , being asked to sing out
the morning chat show "Trisha".
But, to date, Billy's finest achievement
was after being heard by PAUL GAMBACCINI
(BBC's Watch Dog) , then being asked by
record producer CHARLIE SKARBECK to demo
record two songs for TOM JONES.
