| A TRIBUTE
TO ELVIS PRESLEY
Fergus has been an Elvis fan since the age
of seven. He has been to Memphis to see
Gracelands twice, and for the last thirteen
years , he has , like hundreds of other
people , been to the Elvis Presley holidays
in Mabelthorpe , Lincolnshire.
It was on one of these holidays that he
won a talent competition.
Julie Munday, the then president of the
Official Elvis Presley Fan Club of Great
Britain , put his name forward for the hit
show "Elvis-The Musical" , and
on Christmas Eve two years ago , Fergus
recieved a 'phone callfrom the director
of the show , wanting him to come along
for an audition.
Fergus' dream came true.
He left his job as a postman and appeared
as the "middle Elvis" (Army/Film/'68
Special years) in Elvis-The Musical , which
went on a 26 week tour of Great Britain
and Northern Ireland., at the end of which
, the show opened at the Piccadilly Theatre
in London's West End.
Fergus received much acclaim for his portrayal
of Elvis - the part Shakin' Stevens played
and became famous for in 1977
During his time in the show , Fergus appeared
on a number of television programmes , including
The National Lottery , This Morning , and
Afternoon Live , as well as all the regional
TV News programmes, radio shows and newspapers
where the show was touring.
He has been voted New Rising Star by the
Guardian newspaper. Since then, he has also
appeared on the Laurence Olivier Awards.
Now Rested from the musical , Fergus is
keen to pursue a solo career as an Elvis
Tribute Artiste.
